S.T. Dupont & Dunhill: Butane Refills and Flints Accessories Order Form
A.Choosing the right Dupongas color.
Simply remove the bottom filler plug and look INSIDE the plug; it will be color-coded gold, red, green or blue. This indicates the kind of Dupongas the lighter uses (gold, red, green or blue).
B. Choosing the right Dupont Flint color.
For all Dupont lighters use the BLACK flints. Except the SLIMLINE lighter (Line D model) use the RED flints.
C. Refilling the lighter with Dupongas.
Remove the bottom filler plug.
1. Note a little spout inside the valve. This spout should be pushed down with a pencil or other sharp object to let all the gas and air escape prior to filling. (it will stop "hissing when all the gas and air are gone.)
2. Take the proper Dupongas refill (gold, red or green); for best results warm the refill in your hand for a minute or so. If possible, place the lighter in the freezer for 5 minutes or so. WARM refill, GOLD lighter fills best.
3. Screw the refill down into the valve, but without forcing the lighter underneath the refill.
4. After a minute or so, the lighter will be refilled; most or all of the fluid visible in the refill tube have gone into the lighter. (Gold, red and green are for one charge only. The BLUE Dupongas is for multi-charge. Follow the instructions on the refill. Caution: Do not refill near fire or flame.
D. Changing Lighter Flints.
Open the top of the lighter.
2. Take care not to let the spark flint wheel fall of; if this occurs, put it back so that it fits FLUSH on the lighter.
3. Replace worn flint in the channel; check for a spare worn flint.
4. Using your thumb and forefinger, bring back the slide bar to its original closed position. When properly closed, the slide bar release bottom will pop up to its original closed position.
